Gilbert 8 Day Time & Strike Marbleized Mantel Clock Ca1803

by clocks on 2011/12/11

Here's a very nice looking Gilbert Marbleized Mantel Clock born in 1803 according to the date stamped into the brass works. It runs very well and sounds great. A very nice clock and in amazing shape for being 105 years old. What an investment.

I have to be concise wording is limited here only thing i dont? like about this pretty clock is i dont own it! some weeks ago a big 1905 Gilbert was given to me. Sad the amount of work it needs but it is the pride and joy of this apartment!! I am now officially collecting (old) clocks!

I have never seen this model before. It’s quite beautiful with the half columns, the marbled effect, and the decorative cast pieces. The dial is a lot like many Ingraham ones. Also, I can’t say that I’m too fond of the strike. It may sound better in? person.
